Sir James Dunn has been very fortunate to have an active Student Council for over 20 years. Being on Student Council gives students the opportunity to gain many valuable skills such as leadership, cooperation and independence. The main goal of this group is to give back to the student body. This may be in the form of fun events such as theme days or bake sales. When Student Council does any fundraising, the proceeds go back towards the student body. In the past, Council has purchased benches, trees, team uniforms and most recently an outdoor tent. This year’s Student Council is on the move and consists of seven student from the Grades 4 to 8 classrooms. Adam, Anna, Cheyenne, Trista, Trianna, Julien and James have been busy coming up with fun ideas for the students of Sir James Dunn. Most recently, they had an 80’s theme that was well received. They are now organizing the Winter Fun Day Activities that will happen during the first week of March. SJD is the place to be!
