The week of February 8 was a busy one at Sir James Dunn. The Public Speaking school finals were held on February 8 at 6:30 PM. In the primary division, Nola, Rylan and TJ advanced to the town finals. Kendra, Logan and Erik advanced in the junior division, and Shayne, Trista and Adam advanced in the intermediate division. Good luck to all the speakers when they present their speeches at the Legion on February 17. Students and staff were disappointed to not be able to participate in the Wawa Winter Carnival Parade on June 12, but the extremely cold weather concerned Mrs. Jarvis enough that she decided to not risk frostbite to any of the participants. A picture of one of the banners that would have been on the float and a group picture of the JK – Gr. 3/4 students with their Dr. Seuss masks was taken in the gym. Many of the classrooms had Valentine and 100th Day celebrations on February 12. The kindergarten class spearheaded a food drive for the Food Bank and collected well over 100 food items. Way to go, JK and SK! SJD’s the place to be!
