At a regular Board meeting held on February 17, 2016, trustees from Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l’Ontario ratified a three-year collective agreement with the Association des enseignantes et enseignants franco-ontariens de l’Ontario – Local 57 – Nord-Ouest publique.   “The Board is extremely happy with the new agreement because it enables the Board and its teachers to work hand in hand in offering superior quality education to all its students.  The Board recognizes that the work accomplished by teachers is significant and that in working together we contribute to the excellence of French-language public education,” indicated Jean-Marc Aubin, Chair of Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l’Ontario.   According to the Director of Education for CSPGNO, Marc Gauthier, “the Board’s primary goal is the students’ well-being.  In order for us to achieve that goal, we need to work together with our teachers to offer superior quality education and contribute to the success of CSPGNO students.”   Under this new agreement, teaching staff will receive a salary increase and will enjoy better working conditions.  The collective agreement is effective September 1, 2014 to August 31, 2017.
