If you’re living on the North Shore of Superior, InfoSuperior wants to hear from you.
As part of ongoing community engagement, InfoSuperior seeks input from Lake Superior individuals and interest groups on their goals as residents of the North Shore. The site is currently holding a promotion to bolster response: complete a 10 minute online survey for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate from a local grocer in your community (or Tim’s Card, for White River, Wawa, and area.)
Named ‘Communities of Action’, the survey has an environmental focus. Its aim is to see how many individuals and groups are interested in action to preserve and restore Lake Superior, whether they’ve achieved their goals, and what obstacles they’d like to overcome. For example, if a local environmental group is stalled because they lack funding, or wants to partner with other organizations, the survey gives them a chance to voice their concerns.
We’re looking for residents on the North Shore of Superior: Thunder Bay; Nipigon/Red Rock; Lake Helen; Pays Plat; Schreiber/Terrace Bay; Marathon/ Manitouwadge; Rocky Bay; Pic River; Pic Mobert; and White River/Wawa. Both individuals and groups are invited to respond.
The InfoSuperior Research and Information Network is based at Lakehead University. It specializes in harbour cleanup, addressing environmental concerns at sites like Marathon’s Peninsula Harbour and Nipigon Bay on Lake Superior. Their website aims to be a one-stop location for all kinds of news from the North Shore: social, cultural, economic, and environmental alike.
