If you’re driving along a portion of the Highway 17, south of Wawa you might hear something strange.
A SaultOnline.com viewer heard something on Saturday night that got him wondering.
“I started hearing an high-pitched whine noise on Saturday night while on the shore at Sandy Beach. I also heard it after midnight on Sunday and at 7am this morning,” writes J. Cooper. Cooper also submitted a few photos of what he found.
“After some sleuthing, I found the cause of the noise: a source of rock for the re-building of Hwy 17. It is on the east side of Hwy 17, between the Michipicoten River and the Driftwood Beach Road. They also use bright lights at night,” he writes.
