After working for the Township of Wawa and then the Municipality of Wawa for 37 years, Doreen Pavlic, Deputy Treasurer/Assistant Director of Finance has retired. At last night’s Council Meeting, Doreen was recognized for her years of service by Mayor Ron Rody. He presented her with a Michael Cleary “Wawa Goose Print”, and recognized her ‘phenomenal contribution of time to the community of Wawa’. He said to the room, “I know Doreen is already enjoying her retirement, and tonight you can come to a meeting, and I’m going to present you with a print, and then you don’t have to stay, you can leave!”, with a chuckle.

Asking her to come forward, Rody presented her with the print saying, “On behalf of Council and staff, and the community,  thank you very much for a wonderful thirty seven years of service.”

After some photo taking, CAO Chris Wray presented Doreen with a commemorative letter on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario offering their best wishes on her retirement. Wray was honoured to be able to present this letter as President of AMCTO and as CAO, Clerk/Treasurer of the Municipality of Wawa.

“It’s been quite the ride” Doreen said as she accepted the letter, and then was able to leave the meeting.
