Lady Dunn Health Centre Foundation’s Summer Wine Tasting will feature wines from Chile and Argentina. The production of wine in South America was started in the 1500’s by Franciscan Monks for religious purposes. It wasn’t until the late 1800’s when planting of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère grapes that South America started to make some exceptional wines. Now the South American wine industry is booming. Argentina is the 5th in the world’s wine production and Chile is 9th.
The Foundation has chosen six South American wines to be paired with a variety of appetizers. Also, a special highlight to be included at this event will be two craft beer tastings from the Union Jack Brewing Company located in Sault Ste. Marie. This enjoyable evening is an opportunity to learn and taste different styles of wine and enjoy local craft beer. Also, this social gathering will feature local guitarist Jim O’Leary. We invite the community to come and celebrate the efforts of the Foundation and our supporters that have been working towards enhancing healthcare in your community.
This Summer Wine Tasting will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion on June 25th from 8:00 – 10:00 PM. Tickets are on sale for $25 at the admissions desk of the Lady Dunn Health Centre or by contacting Jennifer Fletcher at 705-856-2335 ext. 3147.
The Summer Wine Tasting is proudly sponsored in part by Brookfield, TbayTel, Northern Credit Union Delegate Group, Wawa Medical Group, Kabi Lake Forest Products and Bristol Motel.
