High Winds cause Power Outages – UPDATE


6:26 p.m. – Power has been restored to all customers. If you are still without power please call the PUC Emergency number at 759-6555.

3:19 p.m.: Outage time of 12:35 PM, Affecting 1114 customers

Cause of Interruption: 
Under Investigation — Very Strong Winds


The power has been restored in the area of Maki Road north of Avery Road to Lakeshore Drive.

3:01 p.m.: 3532 Customers affected. There is currently a power outage in the area of Peoples Rd west to Gros Cap, Second Line north to city limits, south to Pointe Des Chenes.


Original Notice: The Sault Ste. Marie PUC is advising of a power outage that began at 12:35 p.m. and is affecting 1114 customers.

The area affected is from Third Line north to city limit and east of Maki Rd. Maki Rd north to Lakeshore Dr. South of Second Line west of Allen’s Side Rd to Airport Rd and to Pointe Des Chenes.
