Municipality of Wawa Launches Energy Tab on Town Website to Further Community Energy Commitment


The Economic Development Corporation of Wawa (EDC), in partnership with the Municipality and Algoma Power is moving forward with implementing action items identified in the Wawa Energy Plan with funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. In particular, increasing community education and awareness is a priority on the agenda.

The Municipality of Wawa is pleased to announce the launch of the new ENERGY tab on the Municipal Website. Check out the Energy Tab online at, the new one-stop energy information hub for Wawa. Watch the Wawa Energy video to learn about Wawa’s energy commitment and how you are making a difference with regards to energy efficiency in Wawa.

Call the EDC of Wawa at 705-856-4419 to share what you are doing to be more energy efficient. Or share your commitment on social media by #wawaenergy. Also available on the website are infographics with quick tips on how to save energy and water, which lightbulbs to use and where to dispose of them, and also where you can recycle in Wawa. As well, check out the quick links portion of the webpage to access saveONenergy programs, track and your electrical consumption and learn about whether or not you qualify for the Ontario Electricity Support Program.
