Smoke was visible from the international Bridge Friday, June 24th from forest fires near Raco, Michican. The fires were short-lived, but their smoke helped to make a beautiful sunset along Lake Superior that evening.
By Mamainse, the Lake was still. This near silhouette of the island is reminiscent of fractals.
By the time I got to the Sand River Hill, the lake was bathed in red light. The sunlight refracting through the smoke particulate – created a red cast.
Only minutes later, with the drop in elevation – the sun had dipped behind the treeline at Katherine’s Cove. Pinks and purples, and a horizon that was nearly invisible made for a beautiful sight.
