TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG CHARGE
(WAWA, ON) – On Monday July 4, 2016 at approximately 11:50 pm members of the Superior East Wawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had occasion to stop a motor vehicle travelling on Highway 17 in the Bailloquet Township for a traffic violation.
During the investigation officers detected a strong odour of what they believed to be narcotics, a search of the motor vehicle revealed a quantity of Cannabis Marihuana. As a result Sebastian ANDRADE ( 32 ) of Kitimat British Columbia was charged with the following offence;
- Adult Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis Marihuana under 30 grams contrary to section 4 (1) of the Control Drugs and Substance Act.
The accused was released from custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Wawa Ontario.
LOCAL DRIVER CHARGED WITH DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION
(WAWA, ON) – On Tuesday July 5, 2016 at approximately 11:07 am members of the Superior East Wawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had occasion to stop a motor vehicle on Broadway Ave Wawa for traffic violation.
During the investigation it was revealed that the driver was a suspended driver. As a result Jacques MILLETTE ( 38 ) of Wawa Ontario was charged with the following offence;
- Adult Driving While Under Suspension contrary to section 53 (1) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
The defendant was issued a Summons and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Wawa Ontario in September, 2016.
