Bishop Marcel Damphousse, the Bishop of the Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie, was at École Sainte-Anne in Spanish on Tuesday, June 28, to meet students and staff. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by grade 5 and 6 students Angel Grimard and Alyssa Labelle, and school principal Mrs. Mme Julie Chenard-Azzi. The two students invited the Bishop to meet all of the students and to view the key chains that students were creating. The key chains, hand crafted by the students, all had a cross made of beads.
Afterwards, the students had the opportunity to ask several questions to Bishop Damphousse who spoke very openly on his love for Jesus and for others, his decision to become Bishop as well as the responsibilities of serving as Bishop of the Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie. He also presented students his bishop’s habit, the mitre, his pectoral cross as well as his pontifical stick. Before leaving École Sainte-Anne, Bishop Damphousse blessed the students’ key chains. What a memorable visit. Merci Monseigneur Damphousse.
