Once again the Grade 12 graduates from schools in Wawa and Dubreuilville had a chance to celebrate their accomplishments with a variety of service providers in the community.
The Glad Grad Committee would like to extend a huge thankyou to RBC Wawa. RBC donated the funds to cover the cost of the event this year, without this donation our Glad Grad day would not be possible.
Presentations were held at Michipicoten Memorial Community Center on June 1st.
Students received interactive sessions about Healthy Relationships/Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, Sexual Health, Dealing with Stress, Banking, Resume and Job Search as well as Substance Use and Addictions.
Former Graduate Shaelin Mills came in to share information about her experiences since her graduation, thank you Shaelin!
Mirinda Patterson, woke us up after our pizza lunch with a Pound activity, thanks Mirinda!
We would like to thank the staff and students of École St Joseph Wawa, École L’Orée des bois, Michipicoten High School. The support from the principals and students ensure this day is successful.
Big thanks to the presenters who took time out of their busy schedules to join students on this day: RBC Wawa, Algoma Family Services, Center Victoria Pour Femmes, Regional Employment Help Centre, Algoma Public Health, CHADWIC Home Inc., and Wawa Area & Victim Services.
We would also like to thank the following businesses and organizations for their donations to make this day a spectacular one: AJ’s Pizza, Tim Hortons, Centre Victoria Pour Femmes, RBC Wawa, Wawa & Area Victim Services, Canadian Tire, and the Regional Employment Help Centre.
We look forward to hosting this event annually.
Congrats and best of luck to the 2016 Graduates! We hope you understand just how much our community supports your future endeavors!
