On Thursday July 21, 2016 members of the Superior East Wawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a Control Drug and Substance Act warrant at a local Wawa residence along with the assistance of the Sault Ste. Marie Crime Unit.
During this investigation the following items were seized, 56 plants of Cannabis Marihuana, 92 grams of Cannabis Marihuana and growing equipment. Total estimated value of approximately $56, 920.00 dollars.
As a result Pascal GAGNON (40) of Wawa, Ontario was charged with the following offences;
- Adult- Produce a Schedule II substance – cannabis marihuana contrary to section 7(1) of the Control Drug and Substance Act,
- Adult- Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis Marihuana over 30 grams contrary to section 4(1) of the C.D.S.A,
- Adult- Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking over 3 kg contrary to section 5(2) of the C.D.S.A,
- Adult- Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Gagnon was released on a Promise to Appear with a September 2016 court date.
