Do you enjoy hockey? It really seems to be a silly question with so many former NHL’ers from Northern Ontario, but there is a huge social media campaign underway to promote hockey for youth under the age of 17. This campaign launched yesterday in Sault Ste. Marie at the Mill Market.
Sault Ste. Marie is hosting the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge this year. Eight teams will be competing in twenty-two (22) games scheduled at the Essar Centre and the John Rhodes Community Centre; from Oct. 30 to Nov. 5th. Canada’s top 66 under-17 players have made up three Canadian Teams in this tournament. There will be stiff competition as teams from Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Russia and the United States are sending their best.
If you participate in social media and love hockey, here is your chance to win a weekend prize package for the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge!
#SnapTheBus invites anyone who sees the new Hockey Canada-clad charter bus to take a selfie with the decked-out bus, post it to Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #SnapTheBus. Every time you post it counts as an entry towards the contest’s grand prize, a pair of tickets to the 2016 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge championship weekend and hotel accommodations.
You can follow their Facebook page to get hints of where the bus is, as it tours through Ontario and Northern Michigan.
