Vandalism Closes Lion’s Beach House

1

At Tuesday night’s Council meeting, Council members and those in the gallery were told that several events of vandalism had forced the closure of the Lion’s Beach Beach House.

Over the past several weeks there has been several occurrences of vandalism at the beach house. As a result the beach house was shut down. It will be opening again shortly, with hopes that the vandalism has ceased. The vandalism was to the interior of the building.

Alex Patterson, Assistant Director of Tourism and Leisure Services commented, “The police have been involved and have been cooperative in trying to keep a better eye on that beach house in the future. So maybe, we won’t have to shut it down.”

There has not been any media releases from the local constabulary regarding this vandalism or if there has been any arrests. However, MyWawa.ca would encourage anyone with information regarding vandalism here or anywhere else in the community to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 705-942-7867 or 1-800-222-8477. Type a tip through their website at www.saultcrimestoppers.com or text the keyword SSM along with your tip to 274637.

  1. I wish people would stop vandalising the community.

If people here so desperately want money to be spent on other things, then the vandalism needs to stop. The less money and time spent on unnecessary repairs, the better. Maybe that way we could put forth a strong statement that we care about this community and what is provided to us. Nothing will be achieved and/or granted to us if people keep showing disrespect.
