Intoxicated Driver Causes Collision and Serious Injuries to two passengers

On Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at approximately 4:30 am members of the Superior East Wawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on the Goudreau Road, Dunphy Township located approximately 5 kilometres South of Highway 519.

The investigation revealed that a pickup truck with three occupants was travelling on the Goudreau Road when the driver lost control and became involved in a collision.

Two passengers were sent to the Lady Dunn Health Centre in Wawa with serious and undetermined injuries, the driver did not sustain any injuries. The investigation revealed that alcohol was a factor in this collision.

OPP were assisted by Technical Traffic Collision Investigators, a Traffic Reconstructionist and the Emergency Medical Services.

As a result Scott Allen WILSON (47) of Dubreuilville, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following offences;

  • Adult Driving while Ability Impaired Cause Bodily Harm (motor vehicle-alcohol) contrary to section 255(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada,
  • Adult Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle Cause Bodily Harm contrary to section 249(3) of the C.C.C,
  • Adult Criminal Negligence Cause Bodily Harm contrary to section 221 of the C.C.C,
  • Adult Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent contrary to section 335(1) of the C.C.C

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario.
