The Northern Lights were out last night and it was the best display in years. Normally they usually arc over town and the mine hill. Last night they were directly overhead and crossing the Milky Way. Beginning at 9:45 they shimmered, and pulsed across the sky. They kept on going for at least two hours, ending in a bright arcing ribbon spanning the northern sky.
The Milky Way is visible behind the ribbons of Northern Lights. The orange globe is the ball on the power lines, to remind pilots of the lines.
