On September 18, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol duties on Causley Street in the Town of Blind River.
Shortly after 12:30 p.m., police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Causley Street. A traffic stop was initiated. As a result of the investigation, the vehicle was found not to be insured. The vehicle was later towed.
Nijat MAHARRAMOV, 24 years of age, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, was charged with: Operate Motor Vehicle on a Highway-No Insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on November 23, 2016.
