Severe Storm knocks out power in Hornepayne – UPDATE 6:27pm



6:27 p.m. – The power has been restored to Hornepayne. It was restored about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

9:27 a.m. – MyWawa has been advised by Hornepayne residents that the elementary and secondary school is now closed. Residents are also receiving calls that there is now a scheduled outage on the 25th of September from 9am – 11am.

8:50 a.m. – HydroOne’s website now confirms what has been posted on Facebook, the power is expected to be restored at 5 p.m. Residents say that the schools are open, but some say that due to the lengthy power outage – the schools may send children home.

hydroone-0111:44 p.m. – HydroOne says restoration time is estimated to be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 20. There is no word yet if there is school in the morning or not.

9:10 – it is currently pouring in Hornepayne and HydroOne’s website is showing that 564 customers are currently without power with a restoration time of 12:45 a.m.


8:50 p.m. – A storm is currently hitting Hornepayne, lots of wind but no rain at this time. The power is out for the entire town, and is estimated to be restored at 12:45 a.m.
