On October 17, The Wawa Family Health Team and the Alzheimer’s Society is holding the ‘Wawa Fashion Extravaganza’ at the Michipicoten Memorial Community Centre. Sault Ste. Marie’s Pink Chandelier is helping to make this an evening to remember.
The ‘Wawa Fashion Extravaganza” is a fundraiser to support the “Minds in Motion” program that is coming to Wawa. Minds in Motion® is a community-based social program that incorporates physical activity and mental stimulation for people with early to mid-stage signs of Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias and their care partners. Chris Rask of Wawa has received specialized training to run this program and we are hoping to be able to offer it free of charge to participants. That is the goal of this fundraising event!
The evening will begin with a cocktail party! We will have lovely appetizers to tempt your palate, and if you wish the bar is open. After the cocktail party, local models, with ages ranging 17 to 77 will strut the catwalk in our fashion show. Concluding the evening, Pink Chandelier will hold a ‘Trunk Sale’. I’ve been told that Pink Chandelier does carry sizes for the ladies with generous curves! Remember that your ticket is worth $20 ‘Pink Bucks’ towards your purchase from the Trunk Sale! Oh, yes – there will be a place to try your choices on!
Tickets are limited, so get your ticket today and mark Saturday, October 15th at 7 p.m. on your calendar. The Cocktail party starts at 7 p.m., with the Fashion show at 8 p.m. The eagerly anticipated ‘Trunk Sale’ starts at 9 p.m.
Tickets will be on sale, October 6th at the Wawa Post Office after 3 p.m. Just look for Christy!
