Hamilton Man Charged Multiple Offences in Blind River


On October 7, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol duties in the Town of Blind River.  

Shortly after 11:00 a.m., police observed a westbound vehicle on Causley Street and conducted a traffic stop. Investigation determined the driver was suspended.

As a result, Stephan CHESTER, 52 years of age from Hamilton, Ontario was charged with:

  • Driving While Under Suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA); and
  • Class G1 Licence Holder – Unaccompanied by Qualified Driver contrary to section 5(1) of Ontario Regulation 340/94 HTA.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on December 7, 2016.
