On October 7, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol duties in the Town of Blind River.
Shortly after 11:00 a.m., police observed a westbound vehicle on Causley Street and conducted a traffic stop. Investigation determined the driver was suspended.
As a result, Stephan CHESTER, 52 years of age from Hamilton, Ontario was charged with:
- Driving While Under Suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA); and
- Class G1 Licence Holder – Unaccompanied by Qualified Driver contrary to section 5(1) of Ontario Regulation 340/94 HTA.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on December 7, 2016.
