At 6:44 p.m. OPP advised that the highway was completely open. Highway 17 had been closed for four hours, and one lane closed for 14:44 hours after.
At 4 a.m. OPP Communications tweeted that the northbound lanes have been opened.
EARLIER – At 1:07 a.m. Sault Ste. Marie OPP issued a press release stating that Highway 17 (north of Pancake Bay Provincial Park) would be closed for an estimated 4 hours. The highway has been closed because of a commercial motor vehicle on fire. They note that there is no hazardous materials involved.
