On October 24, 2016, shortly after 10:00 a.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fraud at a local pharmacy in the Town of Blind River.
Investigation revealed, a male provided the pharmacy with a fraudulent prescription that had been tampered with. The male left in a taxi and was later located at a residence in Mississauga First Nation.
As a result, Cory NIGANOBE, 38 years of age, from Mississauga First Nation, Ontario, was arrested and charged with:
- Use, Deals, Acts on Forged Document, contrary to section 368(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC); and
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on December 1, 2016.
