Recognizing Exceptional Women and Girls in Algoma-Manitoulin

The Province of Ontario celebrates October ‘Women’s History Month’ with their annual Leading Women/Leading Girls Building Communities Recognition Program, an award for women and girls who are improving the lives of others through volunteer work. Over the past decade nearly 1,000 women and girls have been recognized.

In the Algoma-Manitoulin individuals, organizations, schools and community groups are encouraged to contact Michael Mantha, MPP for information on how they can nominate Algoma-Manitoulin area women and girls for this award. The nomination period closes January 20, 2017. Entries must be received by the Elliot Lake constituency office by the 15th of December 2016 for review. “The leadership of women and girls is essential to creating a fair society and strong economy in Ontario. I am honoured to recognize women and girls in my community through the Leading Women/Leading Girls Building Communities Recognition Program.” commented Mantha.
