Judy’s ‘Empty the Freezer’ for Wawa Community Food Bank Meal Deal

Rock Island Lodge is close to the end of a fabulous year. Judy says, “Thank you Wawa for your business and support. We appreciate that very much.”

Once again Judy is preparing a delicious meal, emptying their freezer, “fresh food too” she explains, converting it to cash and donating it to the Wawa Community Food Bank. She invites all, “Please join us for this informal gathering this Saturday evening meal. Dinner starts at 5:30 pm.”

Judy’s ‘dinner goodness’ has an Italian yen this year, it includes: fresh buns and butter, Chicken Noodle Soup, a Big Green Salad, seasoned Porketta Roast and Italian Spaghetti with meat sauce. Desserts, will as always be delicious, although she is keeping that a secret. Maybe a fruit crisp or that Jack Daniel’s Pecan Pie? There will be tea/Coffee and the usual suspects… and of course, the company of others…

If you are interested, you are reminded to reserve your spot and for your friends. The cost for your dinner is a suggested donation of $15. Please bring a can or dry food item for the Wawa Community Food Bank.

Judy would like to not only thank Wawa for their support of this special event, but gives a “special thanks to the staff at NSA for donating their time for this great cause.”

Directions to Naturally Superior Adventures/Rock Island: Turn west off Highway #17 (towards Lake Superior), at Michipicoten River Village Road (5 km south of Wawa) turning right at the bottom of the hill at the first intersection. Turn left at the next “T” (follow the sign) and follow the paved, then dirt road past Silver Falls and the historic cemetery. Before going up the steep hill to the Harbour Lookout, turn left immediately after the Great Lakes Power hydro-station. Follow this road to their gate, where there is a large parking area and bus turn-around next to Government Beach. Just follow the signs!

Remember a flashlight.
