==DISCUSSION==

A PERIOD OF FREEZING RAIN ON THE WAY.

FREEZING RAIN IS EXPECTED FOR A FEW HOURS EARLY MONDAY MORNING NEAR LAKE SUPERIOR. THE FREEZING RAIN WILL AFFECT SUDBURY AND NORTH BAY DURING THE MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS WITH UP TO 5 MILLIMETRES POSSIBLE.

THE FREEZING RAIN WILL BE PRECEDED BY SOME SNOW AND ICE PELLETS, AND FOLLOWED BY RAIN AS TEMPERATURE RISE ABOVE THE FREEZING MARK.

SURFACES SUCH AS HIGHWAYS, ROADS, WALKWAYS AND PARKING LOTS MAY BECOME ICY AND SLIPPERY. TAKE EXTRA CARE WHEN WALKING OR DRIVING IN AFFECTED AREAS. POOR WEATHER CONDITIONS MAY CONTRIBUTE TO TRANSPORTATION DELAYS. PUBLIC SAFETY CANADA ENCOURAGES EVERYONE TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY PLAN AND GET AN EMERGENCY KIT WITH DRINKING WATER, FOOD, MEDICINE, A FIRST-AID KIT AND A FLASHLIGHT.

FREEZING RAIN WARNINGS ARE ISSUED WHEN RAIN FALLING IN SUB-ZERO TEMPERATURES CREATES ICE BUILD-UP AND ICY SURFACES.
