Following the conclusion of the Ultrasound Campaign, the comfort and safety of Chapleau’s much-loved long-term care residents has become the new focus of the Chapleau General Hospital Foundation. Currently, the furniture in the Bignucolo Residence is over 20 years old. With your help, The Caring Project will replace every bed, mattress, dresser, wardrobe, and chair for our friends, neighbours, and family members in long-term care to enjoy.
The Caring Project is an opportunity to improve the safety and comfort of each resident. We are asking Chapleau to give back to a generation that has given us so much. Low beds will be purchased to reduce falls, and reclining chairs will be provided for everyone. Dressers and side tables will also be replaced. Many of these items were inherited two decades ago from the Cedar Grove nursing home; the wear and tear is irreversible.
The cost to replace the furniture in an entire suite is $7,100. Anyone who donates the full amount for a suite will have the room renamed in their honour. Donors will also be recognized in the main lobby of the Chapleau General Hospital on the Donor Recognition Wall.
Twenty-five of Chapleau’s finest residents live at the Bignucolo Residence. This is our chance to make a difference in their lives.
