Weather – Becoming cloudy this morning with a 30% chance of flurries. It will become windier throughout the day with winds west 30 km/h gusting to 50 becoming light overnight. Low of -6 by late afternoon.

Roads –  Highways are bare and wet from Sault Ste. Marie to White River.

Community – 

National – A Canadian Pacific Railway derailment of 29 cars on a westbound freight train carrying coal has made the water unsafe for consumption according to BC Interior Health Medical Officer Dr. Kamran Golmohammadi. The the coal and the chemicals used to wash the coal before it was transported poses a threat to the water supply; ingesting any contaminants from the coal can cause gastrointestinal irritation.

Anyone within 50 kilometres downstream from the spill should not drink from the river, and boiling water will not remove potential contaminants.
