On January 17, 2017 shortly before 9:00 a.m., a Mississauga First Nation Police officer was on regular patrol duties on Highway 17 near the Territory of Mississauga First Nation.
The officer observed an eastbound vehicle travelling at a speed over 50 kilometres over the posted 90 km/ hour zone. A traffic stop was initiated.
As a result, Maresa CAPPELLI, 17 years of age, from Iron Bridge, Ontario, was charged with: Drive Motor Vehicle While Performing Stunt- 50+kmph in a posted 90 km/hr zone, contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
The vehicle was impounded for 7 days and her driver’s licenced seized for 7 days.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on March 15, 2017.
