There were tears, many stories and laughter as those who knew Susan Barber joined to celebrate her life on Sunday.
Barber died last August, shocking the local arts community who mourn the loss of a great talent and teacher. Barber was the founder of the small production company, Shot in the Dark Productions. She was involved in some capacity in hundreds of local plays and musicals and loved teaching students about theatre. She also loved being on her farm tending to her many animals.
Hundreds showed up a the celebration of life at the Algoma’s Water Tower Inn Sunday to share the many stories and the laughter. Special memorial tribute was performed by some of the local actors and musicians who she touched during her long career in the performing arts in Sault Ste. Marie.
Sue’s husband Aubrey Falls announced details for The Susan Barber Memorial Bursary which will be made available to graduating students from all Sault Ste. Marie high schools.
