(THESSALON, ON) – On February 28, 2017, a member of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a local secondary school. Police learned that between February 21, 2017 and February 27, 2017, a 14 year male had assaulted his sister and mother with a weapon. He also destroyed an electronic device in the family home in the Town of Thessalon.
As a result, a 14 year old male, from Thessalon, Ontario, was charged with:
Assault with a Weapon (X2), contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code (CC); and
Mischief-Destroy or Damages Property, contrary to section 430(1) of the Criminal Code.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on March 23, 2017.
