SUSPENDED DRIVER CHARGED

(MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES, ON)On April 8, 2017, shortly after 11:00 a.m., members of the East Algoma Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol duties on Highway 17 east of the Town of Thessalon.

Police observed an eastbound vehicle with the right front bumper flapping in the wind. The vehicle then turned off onto Pine Ridge Road. A traffic stop was initiated. Investigation determined the female driver was suspended.

As a result, Jessica CHIBLOW, 29 years of age from Blind River, Ontario, was charged with: Driving While Under Suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on May 24, 2017.

SPEEDER FOUND TO BE UNLICENSED

(BRUCE MINES, ON), On April 10, 2017, shortly after 9:00 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol duties on Highway 17 in the Town of Bruce Mines.

Police observed a westbound vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was initiated. Investigation determined the male driver was unlicenced.

As a result, Gaston MONTILLA-CARRIZO, 40 years of age from Vaughan, Ontario, was issued two provincial offence notices and charged with:

Speeding, contrary to section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA); and
Drive Motor Vehicle-No Licence, contrary to section 32(1) of the HTA.
The vehicle was towed.
