On Monday November 13, 2017, at approximately 3:50 pm members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Hornepayne Detachment had occasion to stop a motor vehicle for a traffic violation in the Community of Hornepayne Ontario. During the investigation police determine that the male driver was disqualified from driving and was in contravention of several Highway Traffic Act offences.
As a result Johnathan Jee-Duk WON aged 22 of Hornepayne, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following offences:
Adult Driving while Disqualified- Court Order contrary to section 259(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada,
Adult Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by an Officer in Charge contrary to section 145(5.1) of the Criminal Code of Canada,
Adult Disobey Stop Sign- Fail to stop contrary to section 136 (1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario,
2 counts of Adult Driving while Under Suspension contrary to section 53 of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario,
Adult Class G1 licence holder- Unaccompanied by qualified driver contrary to Ontario Regulation 340/94 5(1),
Adult Fail to notify change of Address- Licence contrary to Ontario Regulation 340/94 33(1),
Adult Fail to Apply for Permit on Becoming owner contrary to section 11(2) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario,
Adult Use plate not Authorized for vehicle contrary to section 12 (1)(d) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario,
Adult Operate a motor vehicle without Insurance contrary to section 2(1) (a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act of Ontario.
The accused was released from custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Hornepayne Ontario on December 7, 2017.
