(BLIND RIVER, ON)- On November 11, 2017, shortly before 11:30 p.m., members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were on patrol duties in the Town of Blind River.
Police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Causley Street and initiated a traffic stop. While speaking to the driver the officer detected a strong odour of alcohol emanating from inside the vehicle. A male passenger was intoxicated and had an open container of liquor in the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, Nigel HAPA, 25 years of age from Beulah, Manitoba was issued a provincial offence notice and charged with: Consuming Liquor in Other Than Premises, Residence or Private Place contrary to section 31(2) of the Liquor Licence Act.
