Helping Northern Ontario communities to diversify and grow their economies
$256,500 in Government of Canada support will help Dubreuilville to pursue economic opportunities
The residents and businesses of the Township of Dubreuilville will benefit from increased growth and job creation opportunities in the tourism, forestry and mining sectors thanks to a Government of Canada contribution of $256,500. The FedNor funding will enable the township to hire an economic development officer for a three-year period to help implement priorities identified the community’s strategic plans.
The funding was announced today by the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor.
Some of the officer’s responsibilities will include developing a plan to address projected labour shortages in the region, gearing up for increased mining activity, identifying available commercial and industrial land for development, and expanding the tourism sector through product development, research and marketing.
