Traffic Stop Nets Pot Charges

ESPANOLA, ON) – On Thursday February 22, 2018, members from the Manitoulin-Espanola Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop after observing a traffic violation on Highway 17 in Baldwin Township, Ontario.

Investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle was in possession of controlled drugs. Police seized a quantity of suspected marijuana plants.

As a result of the investigation, Havaiel ORD, age 34, of Ottawa, Ontario has been charged with:

 

Produce a Schedule II substance- Cannabis Marijuana- contrary to section 7(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Provincial Court of Justice in Espanola on April 5, 2018.
