Female Charged With Impaired Driving

On Sunday April 1, 2018 at approximately 12:32 a.m., officers from the Manitoulin-Espanola Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a traffic violation on Water Street in Little Current, Ontario.

A traffic stop was conducted and the officers determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been consuming alcoholic beverages.

As a result of the investigation, Alicia COLLINS, age 21, of Little Current, Ontario has been charged with:

 

Drive While Ability Impaired by Alcohol, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC); and
Driving With Over 80 mg of Alcohol in Blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CC; and
Novice Driver Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero contrary to section 44.1(3) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA); and with
Class G1 Licence Holder Unaccompanied by a Qualified Driver contrary to section 5(1) of the HTA- Ontario Regulation 340/94.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay, Ontario on May 8, 2018.
