Earlier this month our hosting company experienced a catastrophic failure after installing security updates at their data centre which resulted in our content team losing access to myAlgoma. Despite jumping up and down, kicking our feet and outright shedding a few tears, our host struggled over past few weeks to get myAlgoma as well as numerous other clients back up and running.
We sincerely apologize to our readers for this disruption and our team is happy to inform that myAlgoma.ca is now back up and running, after being relocated to the same home its sister site SaultOnline.com enjoys.
Besides some content, what have our readers missed?
myAlgoma’s parent company, Superior Media, has just brought back local TV to Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma District. The new station ONNtv (pronounced ON-TV) has been in the works for over a year now and is one of the first local stations in Canada to be launched Over the Top (OTT). Simply put, it is being broadcast through the internet similar to other services like Netflix, CraveTV and Shaw Free Range, rather than via traditional cable or satellite methods. The future of TV is here!
ONNtv can be viewed on a wide range of devices from standard TV’s, Smart TV’s, computers, mobile devices and more. To learn more about ONNtv, programming being aired, how to view your new local station, as well as access View on Demand (VOD) shows, visit http://onntv.saultonline.com
