(TOWNSHIP OF THE NORTH SHORE, ON) – Tractor Trailer Driver Charged after Forcing Police Cruiser to Hit the Shoulder
On July 12, 2018, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol on Highway 17 in the Township of the North Shore.
Shortly after 9:00 a.m., as a police cruiser was eastbound on Highway 17 when a westbound tractor trailer crossed the centre line partially entering the officer’s lane causing him to hit the shoulder.
As a result of the investigation, Logan DUNN, 36 years of age from Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, was issued a provincial offence notice and charged with: Unsafe Move-Lane or Shoulder, contrary to section 154(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act.
(BLIND RIVER, ON) Male Damages Mother-in-Law’s Vehicle
On July 10, 2018, shortly before 10:30 a.m. members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Cobden Avenue in the Town of Blind River.
Investigation determined that a male and female had a verbal argument outside the residence where the male became enraged and took his frustrations out on his mother-in-law’s car by slamming the front passenger door resulting in the door not being able to close properly. The male had left the residence by the time police arrived and a warrant was being sought.
On July 18, 2018, shortly after 3:00 a.m., police responded to domestic disturbance at the same residence where a male was arrested.
As a result of the investigation, a 28 year old male from Blind River, Ontario, was charged with:
Mischief-Destroys or Damages Property, contrary to section 430(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC); and with
Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on August 16, 2018.
