A Message from Huron Shores Fire Chief Jim Kent.

The Fire restriction remains in effect means NO OPEN FIRES are permitted.

Despite the rain that fell overnight and the projected additional rain forecast for today, the Ministry of Natural Resources & Forestry (MNRF)-imposed Fire Restriction remains in effect throughout most of the Province of Ontario. This means that any open air fire is a violation and as such is subject to a $615.00 fine. If you see somebody burning please call 310-FIRE (3473) and a Conservation Officer will be sent to investigate and lay charges if a violation is found.

The MNRF will notify everyone, including the Municipality of Huron Shores, when the Fire Restriction has been lifted.  The Municipality will also pass the information along to the residents and ratepayers of Huron Shores via The Municipality also has a fire ban in effect but that is superseded by the MNRF’s Fire Restriction.
