ELLIOT LAKE – MPP Michael Mantha has partnered with Canadian Blood Services to help ensure that lifesaving blood products are available to hospital patients in need. As part of his long-time support for Canadian Blood Services, MPP Mantha is challenging the people of Elliot Lake to prove our strong community spirit and reach the goal of collecting 77 donations at the clinic.
“We are pleased and proud to have the opportunity to help Give Life in this way, especially when the need for blood has been upgraded to critical,” says Michael Mantha, MPP for Algoma-Manitoulin.
“It is so exciting to think so many of us can make a real difference in the lives of Canadian hospital patients with such a simple act that just takes a few minutes out of one day. This year, 100,000 new blood donors are needed across Canada to meet patient needs – including 185 needed right here in our community. I invite Elliot Lake residents to not only join us by making an appointment to donate blood themselves but as well I encourage them to bring a friend or family member with them.”
You can take part by making an appointment to give life at the Collins Hall, 120 Hillside Drive North on Monday, August 13th from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. To discover all the ways you can help and to book your appointment, visit:http://blood.ca.
