TORONTO — Canadian streaming platform CraveTV is turning a well-known pop culture podcast into a small-screen talk show.
Eight episodes of “Much Studios Presents: Mike on Much” are in production and will be available on CraveTV later this year, the company said.
“Mike on Much” is hosted by Arkells lead singer Max Kerman, director Mike Veerman and YouTuber Shane Cunningham. Each TV episode features a roundtable discussion on a range of topics, including music, pop culture and entertainment.
The show launched in 2015 and has seen a parade of celebrities come through its doors, including musicians Noel Gallagher, Camila Cabello and Chad Smith, drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The “Mike on Much” series is one of a number of podcasts recently adapted for television.
Among the other projects in the works, HBO will debut a version of the political podcast “Pod Save America” later this month, hosted by Jon Favreau and former Barack Obama staffers.
Amazon Prime Video is also slated to debut Julia Roberts-starring series “Homecoming” in November, a fictional take on a podcast that followed a caseworker at a transitional support centre for soldiers returning to civilian life.
