Classes at Sault College and Algoma University cancelled due to weather

Due to hazardous weather conditions currently in the area, both Sault College and Algoma University have advised that classes are cancelled for the day.

Sault College

Due to the freezing rain conditions and decreasing temperatures, the College will cancel classes at 430pm today.  The Library and Gym will also be closed at 4:30pm.

All evening classes are cancelled but essential campus services will remain open, including the cafeteria.  The cafeteria will remain open until 7:00pm

Essential personnel, such as security, maintenance and custodial staff should report to work.

It is anticipated that all services will resume normally tomorrow.

 

Algoma University

Due to ongoing precipitation and predicted decreasing temperatures, all late afternoon (5:30 pm) and evening classes have been cancelled at the Sault Ste. Marie campus of Algoma University for today.

The Arthur A. Wishart Library and the George Leach Centre will also be closed for the evening as of 5:30 pm.

Essential campus services, including the cafeteria, will remain open.

Only essential personnel such as security and custodial staff should report to work.

Classes are expecting to resume as scheduled tomorrow.

The University will continue to monitor the situation and any related updates will be circulated via email, social media, and on the news section of the Algoma University website.

Students, faculty and staff are advised to use caution at all times and to take weather conditions into consideration when travelling.
