Two Facing Cocaine Charges

(ESPANOLA, ON) – On February 26, 2019, an officer from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 17 in Nairn-Hyman Township, Ontario.

At approximately 12:00a.m., the officer observed a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop. As a result of the investigation, OPP seized suspected Cocaine and suspected Oxycodone. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $20,000.

Tyrone SANANIKONE-CASTRO, a 22-year-old male from Kitchener, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code (CC);
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CC; and
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid, contrary to section 5(2) of the CC.

Choily TITH, an 18-year-old male from Kitchener, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CC; and
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking -Opioid, contrary to section 5(2) of the CC.

Both of the accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola, Ontario on April 15, 2019.
