COBALT, Ont. — A father and son have been charged with manslaughter in the death of a man whose remains were found last month in northeastern Ontario.
Police say the pair — 50-year-old Donald Allan Ash and 28-year-old Donald Kenneth Ash of Cobalt, Ont. — were arrested Tuesday.
Both are also charged with indignity to a dead body, criminal negligence causing death and trafficking in opioids.
The son is further charged with two counts of failing to comply with probation.
Police were notified in mid-April that human remains had been found in Coleman Township, southeast of Cobalt.
An autopsy later identified the remains as those of 21-year-old Nicholas Rivard of Haileybury, Ont.
