One male arrested after three trucks stolen

(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) – On Monday, May 27, 2019, members from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the OPP Canine Unit and the Emergency Response Team (ERT), as well as officers from the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service (WTPS) and the United Chiefs and Councils of Manitoulin (UCCM) Anishnaabe Police were called to three separate reports of stolen vehicles.

Chance BEBONING, 20-years-old, from M’Chigeeng, Ontario, has been charged with:

  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle – two counts, contrary to section 333.1 of the Criminal Code (CC);
  • Theft Under $5,000 from a Motor Vehicle, contrary to section 334(b) of the CC; and
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance – three counts, contrary to section 145(3) of the CC.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on August 21, 2019 in Gore Bay.

The investigation is continuing.
