Charges Laid In Espanola Vehicle Thefts

On June 26, 2019, the Manitoulin detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to multiple thefts from vehicles in the Town of Espanola that occurred over-night between June 24, and June 26, 2019.

As a result of the investigation, Manitoulin OPP has arrested and released two males.

Johnathon BOIS, age 20, from Sables-Spanish Rivers Township, Ontario, has been charged with:

Break, Enter a place – commit Indictable Offence – two counts, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC); and
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, contrary to section 355(b) of the CC.

Avery TOULOUSE, age 21, from Espanola, Ontario has been charged with:

Theft Under $5,000 from a Motor Vehicle, contrary to section 334(b) of the CC;
Fraud Under $5,000 contrary to section 380(1)(b) of the CC;
Break, Enter a place – commit indicatable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the CC;
Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC; and
Theft Under $5,000 – three counts, contrary to section 334(b) of the CC.

Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario court of Justice in Espanola, on August 19, 2019.
