The public is invited to participate in the Canadian Army Primary Reserve Job Fair on Saturday, September 28th. Armouries across the country will open their doors to showcase the important work Reservists do for Canadians through interactive displays, conversations, and activities.
These events will place Canadians in the company of our nation’s soldiers and is part of the Canadian Army’s overall initiative to recruit new members to the Army Reserves. Under Strong, Secure, Engaged: Canada’s Defence Policy, the Government of Canada has committed to increasing the size of the Reserve Force to 30,000 (an increase of 1,500) and to reduce the length of time it takes for an individual to join the Reserve Force to approximately 30 days.
The Canadian Army Reserve Open House at 1 Garrison Way, Sault Ste. Marie, ON will take place on September 28th, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The 49th Field Regiment RCA and 33 Service Battalion (Detachment Sault Ste. Marie) will host a Job Fair in order to promote a positive interest in the Primary Reserves. Events will include information sessions, equipment displays and demonstrations in addition to a recruiting stand. There will also be a dedication ceremony at 11:00am for the monument howitzer placed in front of the Armoury.
