Algoma Toastmasters invites residents to its open house to meet members and watch an example of a typical meeting with special presentations from our executive members on the value of Toastmasters membership.
“Since 1924, Toastmasters International has been recognized as the leading organization dedicated to communication and leadership skill development. Through its worldwide network of clubs, each week Toastmasters helps more than a quarter million men and women of every ethnicity, education level and profession build their competence in communication so they can gain the confidence to lead others.”says Matthew Lance, Club President for Toastmasters 2648. “
Members and guests will enjoy a regular Toastmasters meeting that will include prepared speeches, Table Topics™ and an evaluation. There will also be refreshments served and a door prize offered.
Club V.P. of Education Ryan Walker, who has served in various club positions, will be the Table Topics master. “Table Topics are one of my favorite parts of the meeting,” says Walker. “This is where guests and members are randomly selected to speak for one to two minutes. It helps you think and speak clearly on your feet.”
